Isaac Castelaz

The Chicago native founded the 360 newsletter in 1997 along with Grant Brooks and Abayouni Imari Dukes. Castelaz has advocated social transformation since age seventeen, helping to form the Greybacks Organization for Liberation and Self-Determination in 1993 as a high school student before joining Dukes and Brooks at Western Michigan University. As a public school teacher on Chicago’s south side, Castelaz completed his first book, Sharing the Light, in 2002. His second release, Paths to Power, will be released June 6th, 2008. Aside from his writing, Castelaz helped establish the Liberation Project, a radical organization operating in Chicago’s Bronzeville neighborhood. Castelaz currently works as an administrator at a Chicago public high school.
